The scope of the 16th Street Improvement Project includes upgrading and installation of Overhead Contact System (OCS) and Traction Power infrastructure. In addition, transit bulbs and transit boarding islands will be constructed to enable more efficient passenger boarding and alighting. Pedestrian bulbs, raised crosswalks, and curb ramps will be constructed to enhance pedestrian safety. Traffic signals and traffic signal communication infrastructure will also be added or upgraded. Other project scope includes streetscape, streetlight, landscape, and roadway rehabilitation improvements. Some relocation of Water utilities will also be included in this project to accommodate construction of pedestrian and transit bulbs.

In order to provide minimal overall disruption to the public, the 16th Street Improvement Project will incorporate other planned projects on 16th Street. The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) has incorporated its sewer main replacement scope in this Projects.

Mitchell Engineering, a San Francisco Contractor and Equal Opportunity Employer, is requesting bids from ALL QUALIFIED AND/OR CERTIFIED SAN FRANCISCO LBE. Subcontracting Participation Requirement is 22%. SFPUC-LBE's cannot be utilized. Truckers and Material/Equipment Suppliers are requested to forward bids for the following project. Mitchell Engineering encourages Subcontractors quotes to utilize other LBE firms through second tier subcontracting, owner-operated equipment, or purchase of materials.

Mitchell Engineering will be bidding as a Prime and requests Subcontractors/Vendors and Trucking proposals in the format of the Bid Form for the following trades: Traffic Control; Landscaping; Grinding and Paving; Electrical; Traffic Signals & Traffic Signal Communication; Survey; SWPPP; Trucking; Concrete Curb/Gutter/Ramps-detectable Surface Tiles; and Street Lighting for the following Project: 16TH STREET IMPROVEMENT (Contract #1313) located in San Francisco, CA. Bids are due no later than January 31, 2020, at 3 PM.
