The scope of the 16th Street Improvement Project includes upgrade and installation of the overhead contact system (OCS) and traction power infrastructure. In addition, transit bulbs will be constructed to enable more efficient passenger boarding and alighting. Pedestrian bulbs and curb ramps will be constructed to enhance pedestrian safety. Traffic signals and traffic signal communication infrastructure will also be added or upgraded. Other project scope includes streetscape, streetlight, landscape, and roadway rehabilitation improvements. Some relocation of Water utilities will also be included in this project to accommodate construction of pedestrian and transit bulbs.

In order to provide minimal overall disruption to the public, the 16th Street Improvement Project will incorporate other planned projects on 16th Street. The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) has incorporated its sewer main replacement scope into this Projects.

Mitchell Engineering will be bidding as a Prime and requests Subcontractors/Vendors and Trucking proposals in the format of the Bid Form for the following trades: Traffic Control, Changeable Message Sign; Landscaping (Including trees, tree removal, plants); Grinding and Paving; Electrical; Traffic Signals & Traffic Signal Communication; Traffic Signal Poles, Bracket Arms & Lights; Valve boxes & Covers, Gate Valves; Trucking; Concrete Curb/Gutter/Ramps-Detectable Surface Tiles; Street Lighting, luminaire, brackets, poles; Piping Materials; Traction Power Components; Manholes, Frames & Covers; and Televise Existing Sewers for the following Project: 16TH STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (REBID) - SFMTA (Contract #1313R1) located in San Francisco, CA. Bids are due to Owner on August 12, 2021, at 3:00 PM.
